A rare resident but regular on Cannock Chase and Chartley Moss in Staffordshire. Found in Dymock Forest in Herefordshire and Wyre Forest area and Kinver in Shropshire and Worcestershire
Larvae live in the living wood of alders and birches where they overwinter twice.
Attracted to the TIP pheromone lure for most of the day.
